New Orleans Pelicans DFS Notes

C.J. McCollum shot 9-of-25 from the floor and 4-of-6 at the line for 25 points, eight rebounds, six assists, three triples, one steal, one block and three turnovers across 43 minutes in Sunday's Game 1 loss to Phoenix. McCollum was ice cold to begin tonight’s game, as he bricked his first six shots through a scoreless first quarter, and he went into the halftime tunnel with just eight points on 2-of-11 shooting with New Orleans down by 19. Things didn’t improve for him much over the second half, and simply put, he’ll need to be significantly better in Game 2 on Tuesday for the Pelicans to have any chance of stealing a game on the road.

Phoenix Suns DFS Notes

Deandre Ayton hit 10-of-15 shots for 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists, one 3-pointer, four blocks and one turnover across 34 minutes in Sunday's Game 1 win over the Pelicans. "A lot of people call us a fluke and we heard the same noise last year," Ayton said during a recent. "And all it does is amp us up." The No. 1 seeded Suns flexed their muscles in a statement Game 1 win over the Pelicans, and at no point was this game particularly close. Ayton dominated his matchup with Jonas Valanciunas, opening the game with five straight makes, and he matched his postseason career-high in swats tonight.
