Pistons without Griffin
Detroit was blown out of the building in Game 1 of the series on Sunday, suffering a 121-86 loss to the Bucks. The Pistons played without Blake Griffin and are now expected to be without him for the entire series due to a knee injury. The Pistons are 41-42 overall, 15-27 on the road, 41-39-3 against the spread and 44-39 with the under.
The Pistons showed their complete lack of shooting in Game 1, going just 35 of 92 from the floor and 8 of 27 from the arc. It didn’t help that center Andre Drummond also got himself ejected from the game in the second half. He had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the loss while Reggie Jackson had 12 points and five assists. Luke Kennard led the team in scoring with 21 points off the bench.
Bucks roll
Milwaukee had no trouble with Detroit in the series opener on Sunday, easily covering a 15-point spread. Milwaukee is now 61-22 overall, 34-8 at home, 48-31-4 against the spread and 42-41 with the over.
The Bucks were a well-oiled machine in Game 1, going 44 of 90 from the field while assisting on 31 of the 44 field goals. They also knocked down 15 3-pointers. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points, 17 rebounds and four assists to lead the Bucks in the win while Eric Bledsoe had 15 points with five assists. George Hill added 16 points off the bench.
NBA Betting Trends
Detroit
The Pistons are 2-6-2 against the spread in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record and 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games.
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 14-3-1 ATS in their last 18 games against Central division opponents and 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games on 2 days of rest.
Prediction:
The Pistons embarrassed themselves in Game 1 and one would think they maybe would step up tonight and show some fight. However, the Pistons don’t have the horses to do that against this Milwaukee team. Drummond showed a complete lack of composure and he and Reggie Jackson have never proven themselves to be able to rise up in a big situation. Without Blake Griffin, this team is really pretty underwhelming. Milwaukee should roll right past them again tonight.
NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -15
