Nuggets vs. Blazers Prediction
The Portland Trail Blazers need a win tonight over the Denver Nuggets to assure themselves of the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference. The two teams will square off at 10:30PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Blazers are 10.5-point home favorites versus the Nuggets after the line opened at Portland -9.5. The total, meanwhile, has been bet up to 216.5 after the number opened at 214.
Joffrey Lauvergne is not expected to play tonight for the Nuggets due to a back injury. That means Denver will roll with a frontcourt that features Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic. Gary Harris, however, has been upgraded to probable despite battling a groin injury.
On the other side, only Chris Kaman is listed as questionable for the Blazers. But he isn't a regular part of Portland's rotation so this isn't a concern for Blazers backers. Damian Lillard scored 31 points during the tam's 106-105 loss to the Wolves on Saturday and should be sharp tonight as he and his teammates are well rested.
NBA PICKS: The Nuggets have failed to cover in four of their last five games and are 8-19 against the number in their last 27 games playing on two days of rest. The Blazers, meanwhile, are 11-3 at the betting window in their last 14 games following a loss and have covered in four of their last five games playing on three or more days of rest as well.
