According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Cleveland Cavaliers are favored in the East, as they are getting odds of -260 to win. Other short odds to win are the Boston Celtics (+650), the Toronto Raptors (+700) and the Washington Wizards (+1000).
The Cavaliers are the second seed in the East after going 51-31. Cleveland will take on the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the postseason. Cleveland averaged 110.3 points per game on offense while allowing 107.2 on defense. The Cavs are three-time conference champs and the two-time defending Eastern Conference champions.
Boston surprised many by taking the top seed in the East this season at 53-29. The Celtics are taking on the Chicago Bulls in the opening round of the playoffs. Boston averaged 108 points per game on offense while allowing 105.4 on defense. The Celtics have won 21 conference titles in its history, last doing so in 2010.
Toronto is the third seed in the East. The Raptors went 51-31 as well, but lost the tiebreaker with the Cavs. The Raptors will face the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Toronto is averaging 106.9 points per game on offense while allowing 102.6 on defense. The Raptors have never won a conference title in their franchise history.
Washington finished fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 49-33 record. The Wizards will meet the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs. Washington averages 109.2 points per game on offense while giving up 107.4 on defense. The Wizards are four-time conference champions, but haven’t won the title since 1979.
