Can Heat clinch the Southeast?
The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat both have plenty to play for tonight when the two meet in the season finale at 8PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Boston is favored at home tonight, as the Celtics are getting odds of -5 points against the Heat. The over/under total for the game has been set at 206 points.
Miami is 48-33 on the season, 20-20 on the road and 43-37-1 against the spread. Boston is 47-34 overall, 27-13 at home and 41-39-1 against the spread. These two have met twice this season, with Boston winning and covering the spread in both contests. These two have hit the under in five of their last six meetings as well.
Miami wins the Southeast Division with a win tonight in Boston. However, the Celtics are playing for the fourth seed in the East if they win and get some help. Miami has more to lose in this whole scenario, as a loss could lead the Heat dropping all the way to as low as sixth. Boston can move up to fourth, but they are currently fifth and don’t need to necessarily go as all-out as Miami. The Heat may lose tonight, but it should be a very competitive game.
