Boston Celtics DFS Notes

Marcus Smart was outstanding on Thursday night, scoring a season-high 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting (7-of-12 3-pointers) to go with seven assists, two steals, and three turnovers, but the Celtics lost to the Bucks 127-121 on Thursday night. With Jayson Tatum (right knee) out on Thursday, Marcus Smart got to be more aggressive as a scorer in this one. The Celtics were red hot from beyond the arc, and Smart was the leader in that clubhouse for Boston, as the seven triples were also a season-high for the former Oklahoma State guard. The Celtics will finish up regular season play on Sunday against the Grizzlies, and hopefully, they will get Tatum as well as Al Horford (low back) back in the lineup for that one.

Memphis Grizzlies DFS Notes

Ja Morant (right knee) returned from a nine-game absence in Saturday’s 141-114 win over the Pelicans, showing minimal rust with his 21 points (7-of-14 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), four boards, nine dimes, one block, two triples and four turnovers in 27 minutes. All of the “the Grizzlies are better without Ja Morant” people are probably pretty quiet right about now. They absolutely demolished the Pelicans and had a 55-point third quarter, which marks a franchise record for points in any quarter and the fourth most points by any NBA team in a single quarter since 1955. Morant was aggressive from the opening minutes and got to his average free throw attempts per game in his first game since March 18, and boy was it a pleasure to watch King Ja play basketball again. The Grizzlies are locked and loaded into the second seed in the West, so be on the lookout for Morant and other main Grizzlies to get the day off on Sunday as they prepare for the postseason. Dillon Brooks shot 9-of-16 from the floor for a 23/3/5 line, Desmond Bane scored 18 points with four triples and Ziaire Williams scored 19 points with a career-high four triples in just 22 minutes.

Celtics vs. Grizzlies NBA Betting Prediction

The over is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings between these two teams in Memphis and is 24-6 in the last 30 meetings overall. The over is also 10-1 in the Celtics’ last 11 games versus an opponent with a winning record, is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall and is 7-2 in their last nine games when they’re listed as chalk. On the other side, the over is 13-4-1 in the Grizzlies’ last 18 home games versus a team with a winning road record and has cashed in five of their last seven games when they’re a home dog.
