INJURY TO WATCH
Pelicans power forward Nikola Mirotic (ankle) is probable to play tonight. Shooting guard Ian Clark (ankle) is questionable. Three players are out for the season – center Alexis Ajinca (knee), center DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) and point guard Frank Jackson (foot). For Los Angeles, center DeAndre Jordan (ankle) and point guard Austin Rivers (elbow) are questionable. Shooting guard Lou Willaims (ankle) is doubtful. Small forward Danilo Gallinari (hand) is out tonight. Point guards Jawun Evans (hernia), Milos Teodosic (heel), and Patrick Beverley (knee) plus shooting guard Avery Bradley (hernia) are all out for the season.
BETTING ODDS
The Clippers don’t have anything to play for after being eliminated from the playoffs and the majority of their key players are out or potentially out. But they could take their frustrations out on a New Orleans squad it is 1-2 straight up against this season. My gut tells me somehow LA is going to band together and at least put a scare into a Pelicans team that is sitting a little better than a few teams below them in the playoff chase. New Orleans will probably win this one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the foot is off the gas pedal and it goes down to the wire.
