Celtics vs. Raptors Pick
Are the host Toronto Raptors going to roll to a victory tonight at 8PM ET when they host the Boston Celtics in an important Eastern Conference showdown?
501 Boston Celtics at 502 Toronto Raptors, 8PM ET
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Raptors are a 7.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total sits at 205 points.
Toronto opened as an 8-point favorite, while the total has dropped after opening at 206.5. The spread is at -7.5 at most sportsbooks, but can be found at -7. The total is at 205 almost everywhere, but shop around for it at 205.5.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 60 percent of public bets are on the visiting Celtics. Online wager info also says that 65 percent of bets are being placed on the over.
INJURY TO WATCH
Boston point guard Terry Rozier (ankle) and point guard Shane Larkin (illness) are both questionable for tonight's game. Point guard Kyrie Irving (knee) is out until early May, while point guard Marcus Smart (thumb) is out until mid-May. Power forward Daniel Theis (knee) and small forward Gordon Hayward (ankle) are both out for the season. Toronto comes in with a clean bill of health.
The Celtics have won two of the three meetings this season, but Toronto won the contest in its home building by a count of 111-91 on Feb. 6. While Toronto is on a back-to-back after a 112-106 loss at the Cavaliers last night, Boston is in the same boat following a 106-102 loss at Milwaukee. The Raptors hold a two-game lead on the Celtics in the race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, so a win by the hosts here would clinch it. With Toronto being 31-7 straight up at home this season and much healthier than Boston, I think the Raptors are the right pick here.
