Rockets rolling

Houston is coming off a 130-105 win at Sacramento last night for its third straight win and cover. The Rockets are 50-28 overall, 21-18 on the road, 37-38-3 against the spread and 40-37-1 with the under. Houston is third in the West right now, 3.5 games out of first and ½ a game over Portland for fourth.

The Rockets are putting up 113.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 44.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Houston is allowing 109.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.7 percent from the field. James Harden is putting up 36.4 points, 6.5 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game to lead Houston while Clint Capela is adding 16.5 points and 12.6 rebounds per contest.

Clippers playing well

Los Angeles is coming off a 113-96 win over Memphis on Sunday. The Clippers have won two straight and eight of their last nine games. They are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games. L.A. is 47-31 overall, 25-13 at home, 45-32-1 against the spread and 42-35-1 with the over. The Clippers are sixth in the West right now, ½ a game behind Utah for fifth and 2 games over San Antonio and OKC in the final two spots.

The Clippers are putting up 115.1 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.1 percent as a team. Defensively, Los Angeles is giving up 113.4 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent from the field. Patrick Beverley is questionable to play tonight due to a hip injury. Lou Williams is leading the team with 20.3 points and 5.3 assists per game while Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Houston

The Rockets are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven following a win and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five conference games.

Los Angeles

The Clippers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight conference games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games.

Prediction:

The Clippers have won both meetings with Houston this season, but both meetings came in October. Los Angeles has a much different look now, but I think the result can be the same. The Clippers are playing really well right now and are rallying behind a team of “nobodies” that don’t seemed to be deemed talented enough to compete in the West. Los Angeles will be rested tonight while Houston had to play in Sacramento last night. I think the Clippers can take advantage of that and pick up an upset win at home tonight.

NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers +1
