Bucks fall in OT thriller
Short-handed Milwaukee lost by a score of 136-135 in overtime Sunday to drop to 57-20 on the season and 25-14 on the road. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe all sat out the game with only Bledsoe off the injury report for tonight while the other two players are questionable. Sterling Brown paced the Bucks in the loss with 27 points on 10-of-22 shooting including 5-of-10 from 3-point range plus 2-of-2 at the free throw line. He also tallied nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Tim Frazier accounted for 20 points, 15 assists and seven boards. Brook Lopez added 19 points, six caroms and three assists.
Nets roll past Celtics
Brooklyn cruised to a 110-96 home win Saturday night over Boston to improve to 39-38 overall and 22-16 at home. The Nets outscored the Celtics 33-22 in the third quarter after leading 49-48 at halftime. Brooklyn shot 38-of-83 from the floor, 12-of-38 from 3-point distance plus 22-of-28 at the free throw line. D’Angelo Russell paced the Nets with 29 points on 12-of-24 shooting including 4-of-12 from the free throw line plus 1-of-2 at the free throw line. He also tallied 10 assists, three rebounds and two steals. Caris LeVert accounted for 15 points, four steals and two boards. Joe Harris had 13 points, eight caroms and two assists. DeMarre Carroll added 13 points and four rebounds.
NBA Betting Trends
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days of rest. Milwaukee is 12-5 ATS in its last 17 home games.
Brooklyn
The Nets are 5-0 ATS in their last five Monday games. Brooklyn is 5-1 ATS in its last six games overall.
Prediction:
Milwaukee is focused on making sure their key players are healthy when the playoffs arrive, none more so than the superstar Antetokounmpo. If he sits out another game with an ankle injury, that definitely improves the chances of a Brooklyn team that is motivate and playing strong basketball at home. Russell has been on fire lately and seems to step up his game against the best opponents, so expect another elite performance out of him again. If Antetokounmpo or Middleton are out, that would only increase my confidence in a Brooklyn bet tonight.
