Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Rockets are 6-point favorites to beat the Spurs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 220 points and as of this writing, 63% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Rockets to cover the point spread.
San Antonio Spurs Fantasy Spin
LaMarcus Aldridge posted a 23-point, 13-rebound double-double during Monday's 111-105 win over the Warriors. Aldridge added one 3-pointer, three assists, one steal, two blocks and two turnovers across his 35 minutes of floor time, and he did a nice job of utilizing his size to take advantage of the Dubs’ small-ball lineups. He finished 8-of-12 from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe to give him a sterling 78.6 true shooting percentage on the evening, and he’ll look to keep it going on Wednesday against the Heat.
Houston Rockets Fantasy Spin
Chris Paul played 41 minutes on Wednesday against the Grizzlies, scoring 18 points (6-of-17 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) with seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two 3-pointers and two turnovers. On the second night of a back-to-back, CP3 surprisingly saw 40+ minutes for the first time since mid-November and just the second time all season. This almost ensures a rest day is coming sometime soon, we'll just have to find out when. The veteran guard has posted top-12 value in 9-category leagues over the last week and remains a highly valuable option when active.
NBA Betting Trends
The Spurs have covered the spread in six of their previous seven games overall but failed to cover in seven of their previous 10 road games.
The Rockets are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against the Spurs and have covered in four of the previous five meetings with San Antonio at the Toyota Center.
The under has been highly profitable in this series, cashing in 12 of the previous 15 meetings in Houston and in five of the last six meetings between these two teams overall. The under is also 9-2 in the Spurs’ last 11 games overall and in all five of their previous five conference matchups. On the other side, the under is 8-2 in the Rockets’ last 10 games overall, is 4-1 in their last five home games and 6-1 in their last seven conference tilts.
