Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Nuggets are 8-point favorites to beat the Wizards. The total, meanwhile, sits at 228.5 points and as of this writing, 60% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Nuggets to cover the point spread.
Denver Nuggets Fantasy Spin
Nikola Jokic had a productive Monday in Boston, scoring 21 points (9-of-14 FGs) with 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, three blocks, three 3-pointers and three turnovers in 36 minutes against the Celtics. Jokic dominated Boston on both ends, matching his season-high in blocks while notching his 47th double-double of the season. Prior to this season, the Joker had never cracked the 40 mark in double-doubles, but it looks like he'll soar past 50 this season. He's averaging 19.0 points, 10.5 boards, 6.8 dimes, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 triples on 56.9% shooting over his last four games. The Nuggets have four games on the schedule each of the next three weeks, meaning Jokic will have a big impact in the fantasy playoffs.
Washington Wizards Fantasy Spin
Bradley Beal made 7-of-19 from the field for 27 points with seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 44 minutes against the Bulls during a 126-120 overtime loss on Wednesday. He was coming off a rare tough game on Monday with 15 points against the Jazz, but he fills it up as he continues to be the No. 1 player in nine-category leagues for total value since the break. This is a bad loss for the Wizards as they fall 5.5 games behind the eighth-place Heat. Beal's fantasy owners should be rooting for wins to keep him in the lineup.
NBA Betting Trends
The Nuggets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games and have covered the number in six of their last seven when playing on two days of rest.
The Wizards have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 games overall and in five of their last seven home games.
In the previous five meetings between these two teams in D.C., the under is 3-1-1. The Nuggets have also been an excellent under team for bettors, as the under has cashed in six of Denver’s last six road games and in 16 of the team’s last 21 games overall. Finally, the under has cashed in four of the Wizards’ last five home games.
Thursday NBA Prediction: Nuggets/Wizards under 228.5
