Mavericks vs. Kings Prediction
After blowing a 25-point lead in a loss to the Nets in their last game, will the Kings rebound versus the Mavericks tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET? Or is the smarter play for bettors to search for value with the total?
Game Snapshot
587 Dallas Mavericks at 588 Sacramento Kings

Our NBA Live Odds page pulls spreads and totals from multiple different online sportsbooks so you can compare betting odds to ensure you’re getting the best line.
Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Kings are 8.5-point favorites to beat the Mavericks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 229.5 points and as of this writing, 61% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Mavericks to cover the point spread.
Dallas Mavericks Fantasy Spin
Luka Doncic had 24 points, six assists and five rebounds in 29 minutes of action vs. Portland on Wednesday. The Mavs trailed by 18 points after three quarters and Doncic dealt with a knee injury recently, so his activity in the fourth was a welcome sight. He has five triple-doubles this season, second-most in franchise history, he has the Rookie of the Year award sewn up (sorry, Trae Young), and there’s nothing else to prove this season. Fantasy owners have to be thrilled that he continues to play down the stretch, and so far the Mavs haven’t suggested they’ll rest him. Doncic’s fantasy owners should count their blessings
Sacramento Kings Fantasy Spin
Marvin Bagley came off the bench to hit 12-of-15 shots, 2-of-2 3-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws for 28 points, seven rebounds and two assists in Tuesday’s 123-121 loss to the Nets. He was amazing, especially in the first half, and was clicking on all cylinders offensively. Some steals or blocks would have been nice, but we’ll happily take his stat line as is. The Kings blew a 28-point second-half lead to lose this one, but Bagley wasn’t the problem. He’s been rolling for four straight games and the Kings have four games again next week, making him a must-start fantasy play. Bagley was also seeing some minutes at center tonight, which is part of the reason Willie Cauley-Stein only played 19 minutes
NBA Betting Trends
Dallas
The Mavericks are 4-1-1 against the spread in their last six games coming off a loss but are just 3-7 against the number in their last 10 games versus Western Conference foes.
Sacramento
The Kings have covered the spread in 13 of their last 20 games with one push and are 12-4-1 against the number in their last 17 home games.
Prediction
With the Kings collapsing the other night and the Mavericks inconsistent at the betting window, I see more profitability with the total. The over is 5-2-1 in the Mavericks’ last eight road games and is 4-0 in their last four games after allowing more than 125 points or more in their previous game. The over is also 4-0 in the Kings’ last four games overall and is 4-0 in their last four games when their opponent scored 100 points or more in its previous contest.
Thursday NBA Prediction: Mavericks/Kings over 229.5
