Warriors vs. Spurs Prediction
In what could be a preview of the Western Conference Finals, the Spurs will host the Warriors tonight at 8:30PM ET in the marquee NBA game of the night.
After opening as a 3.5-point home favorite, the Spurs are now -3 to beat the 62-6 Warriors according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv. As for the total, the number opened at 218.5 but has been bet down to 217.
Golden State has won nine of its last 10 games and is 6-4 against the spread during that stretch. San Antonio is also 9-1 over its last 10 games but failed to cover in six of those 10 contests. The Warriors are 21-13 at the betting window as a road team in 2015-16, while the Spurs are 21-13 against the number at home this season.
San Antonio has been unbelievable inside the AT&T Center this season, winning 34 straight home games this season. In those 34 games, the Spurs have won by an average margin of 15.4 points per game and are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 home games versus a team with a road winning percentage of greater than .600.
The last time these two teams met, the Warriors took the Spurs behind the woodshed in a 120-90 romp in Oakland on January 25. But Gregg Popovich is the ultimate puppet master and always has a game plan. With an opportunity to send a message before the playoffs, look for the Spurs to come out focused and better prepared tonight versus the Warriors, who have failed to cover in four of their last five games playing on back-to-back nights.
