Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Jazz are 8.5-point favorites to beat the Nets. The total, meanwhile, sits at 218.5 points and as of this writing, 57% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Jazz to cover the point spread.
Brooklyn Nets Fantasy Spin
Spencer Dinwiddie scored a team-high 25 points with five rebounds, two assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 27 minutes during a 108-96 loss to the Thunder on Wednesday. The Nets looked to have a win after holding the Thunder to just 42 points in the first half, but they were destroyed in the fourth to lose this one big. Dinwiddie had been hot over the four-game winning streak, and over his last five games he's now averaging 22.2 points, 3.8 boards, 4.2 dimes, 0.6 steals and 2.4 treys. He should be locked in for all lineups this weekend.
Utah Jazz Fantasy Spin
Rudy Gobert notched another double-double in 28 minutes against the Wolves on Thursday, scoring 10 points (5-of-7 FGs, 0-of-2 FTs) with 13 rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Gobert battled with Karl-Anthony Towns in this one, which led to foul trouble for both players. The only blemish on Gobert's stats over his last five games is his free throw percentage, which is below 50%. That number is a big reason why he's fallen out of the top-100 over the last two weeks. If you're able to withstand that, Gobert's schedule of 4-3-4 over the next three weeks will help you immensely.
NBA Betting Trends
The Nets are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 Western Conference games.
The Jazz are 17-8-2 against the number in their last 27 games playing on one day of rest.
This is too many points to lay with a Jazz team that has failed to cover in four of their last five home games and is just 1-4 against the number in its last five games after allowing 100 points or more in its previous game. The Nets, meanwhile, have covered the spread in nine of their previous 12 games when facing an opponent with a winning record. They’re also 10-2 at the betting window in their last 12 games when playing following two days of rest.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets +8.5
