Grizzlies vs. Hawks Prediction
The Hawks will go for a season sweep of the Grizzlies when the two teams clash tonight at 7:30PM ET from Atlanta.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Hawks are 12.5-point home favorites over the Grizzlies, who have managed to win seven of their last 10 games despite being banged-up recently. Atlanta, meanwhile, is 5-5 over its last 10 contests but covered the spread in six of those 10 contests. (The total for tonight's game is sitting at 195 points.)
The Grizzlies are currently locked into the fifth spot in the Western Conference but moving up could prove difficult with the amount of injuries that the team is currently saddled with. Marc Gasol continues to be out with a broken foot but Zach Randolph is also dealing with a sore knee and point guard Mike Conley is battling a sore left foot.
Memphis did rack up over 120 points for the fourth time this season for its fifth win in seven games while knocking off New Orleans 121-114 on Friday night. But the game went into overtime and the Grizzlies are already depleted; how are they going to keep pace with the Hawks on tired legs?
The Grizzlies have failed to cover in 11 of the last 15 meetings between these two teams in Atlanta while the Hawks are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games. They're also a perfect 4-0 against the number in their last four games versus Western Conference opponents and have covered in seven of their last nine home games against teams with a losing road record (Memphis is 15-16 on the road this season).
