Pelicans getting back on track

New Orleans has won back-to-back games over the Heat and Timberwolves after going on a three-game losing streak. The Pelicans are 28-36 on the season, 15-17 on the road, 33-29-2 against the spread and 36-28 with the over.

The Pelicans are putting up 116.2 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Defensively, New Orleans is giving up 117 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. The Pelicans are led by Brandon Ingram, who is averaging 24.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Zion Williamson is adding 23.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Kings looking for consistency

Sacramento is coming off a 118-113 loss at home to Toronto this weekend and they are just 4-3 in their last seven games. The Kings are 28-36 on the season, 14-17 at home, 33-29-2 against the spread and 34-30 with the over.

The Kings are putting up 109 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.9 percent from the field. Defensively, Sacramento is giving up 110.9 points per game while opponents shoot 46.8 percent from the floor. De’Aaron Fox has been leading the Kings this year with 20.4 points and 6.8 assists per contest. Buddy Hield is adding 19.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

New Orleans

The Pelicans have covered the spread in six straight as a road favorite and they are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 road games overall.

The Kings are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven following a loss and 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a losing team.

The Pelicans grabbed a win in Sacramento back in January and New Orleans has won and covered in five of the last six between these two. Both teams have trends in their favor, but I like the Pelicans in this one tonight. New Orleans has shown it is going to score points against almost anyone and I would expect the same against the Kings. Sacramento just doesn’t have the same offensive capability. While the Kings can score at times, they don’t do it as consistently and I expect a fast pace from New Orleans tonight.

NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans -1.5
