Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Bucks are 12.5-point favorites to beat the Hornets. The total, meanwhile, sits at 227 points and as of this writing, 58% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Bucks to cover the point spread.
Charlotte Hornets Fantasy Spin
Kemba Walker made just 6-of-19 shots (5-of-6 FTs) for 19 points with four rebounds, six assists, two steals, one block, one 3-pointer and three turnovers in 36 minutes on Friday against the Wizards. Walker's had three rough shooting games in a row now, shooting a putrid 28.1% overall. He's averaging over eight assists in that span, though, which helps to make up for the bad shooting at least a little bit. The Hornets remain in the playoff hunt, so Walker will be called upon night in and night out for their 3-4-3 schedule over the next three weeks.
Milwaukee Bucks Fantasy Spin
Giannis Antetokounmpo made 10-of-17 from the field for 29 points with 12 rebounds, five assists, one block and one 3-pointer in a 117-98 win over the Pacers on Thursday. The Bucks get back on track after consecutive losses for the first time this season against the Jazz and Suns. This win provided Giannis with his 24th game with a 25/10/5 line on the year, including three such games against the Pacers in what is usually a tough matchup for most players. Antetokounmpo could be at risk to rest on Saturday or Sunday, so his fantasy owners will need to check to see if he gets listed with a sore knee.
NBA Betting Trends
The Hornets are 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 road games versus an opponent with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
The Bucks are 14-6-1 against the spread in their last 21 games versus a team with a losing record.
There’s not much to like about the Hornets on paper but they have been highly profitable in this series. In the past six meetings between these two teams, the Hornets are 5-0-1 against the spread versus the Bucks. In Charlotte’s last 10 trips to Milwaukee, the Hornets are 7-2-1 at the betting window. Finally, the underdog is 3-1-1 against the spread in the previous five meetings between these two teams while the Bucks have failed to cover in five of their previous seven home games.
