LINE MOVEMENT
The spread opened as a pick’em beore tilting in LA’s favor, while the over-under has dropped a couple points from 231.5. The line can still be found as a pick’em at many books and even with the Cavaliers as a 1-point favorite, so make sure you shop around for the best price. The total is set at 229.5 at offshore books, while sportsbooks in Las Vegas have it set at either 230 or 230.5.
PUBLIC BETTING
As of Friday afternoon, 72 percent of public bets have come in on the Cavaliers. Online wager info also shows that 56 percent of bets are siding with the under.
INJURY TO WATCH
Cleveland center Tristan Thompson is out until mid-March with an ankle sprain, while power forward Kevin Love is out until late March with a broken hand. For the Clippers, forward Jawun Evans is out with abdominal and groin strains. Forward Danilo Gallinari (broken hand) and shooting guard Avery Bradley (groin) are both out until mid-March.
BETTING STRATEGY
It took the Cavs until overtime to take down the Clippers 118-113 back in November in Cleveland. Overall, the Cavs have won six of the last 10 meetings straight up and are 5-5 ATS. The addition of Larry Nance Jr. to the starting lineup due to the injury suffered by Thompson has made Cleveland a more athletic and entertaining team as he has put up great numbers over the last two contests. Cleveland has won each of the last two games with the new starting five and I believe it will continue here against a Clippers team coming off a 121-116 home defeat versus the Pelicans. Trust in LeBron James.
