Nets surrending points in bunches
The Nets and Raptors have been cashing ‘overs’ left and right for bettors but will they combine to score enough points to push the total over tonight when they meet?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the over/under for tonight’s 7:30PM ET tip-off is currently sitting at 207, up from the opening number of 206.5. The Raptors are also a 12-point home favorite over the Nets, who have covered in six of their last 10 games.
Even though Brooklyn was without starters Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young (both sat out to rest), the Nets still allowed the Timberwolves to shoot 68.4 percent in a 132-118 loss on Saturday night in Minnesota. The Nets have played seven straight road games and still have to travel to Philadelphia on Friday night before their grueling road trip is finished. They’re tired, worn out, and handing out baskets like promoters handing out fliers on the Vegas strip.
Public bettors split on tonight’s game in Toronto
The Nets have not allowed fewer than 105 points in each of their last four games and allowed 120 (in overtime) to Denver last Friday night and 132 on Saturday at Minnesota. They currently rank 28th in defensive efficiency and the over has hit in 14 of their last 20 games.
Speaking of which, the over is a perfect 4-0 in the Raptors’ last four games and has cashed in four of their last five home games. The over is also 7-3 in their last 10 games following a loss and 5-0 in their last five games versus a team with a winning percentage below .400.
With the total sitting at only 207, snatch it up now before it rises any higher.
