Will the Mavs roll past the Nuggets?
The Mavericks had their recent three-game winning streak snapped at home by the Kings but they should rebound nicely when they visit the Nuggets tonight at 5:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Dallas is a 3.5-point road favorite at Denver while the total for tonight’s game is sitting at 210.5 points. The Mavericks opened as a 2.5-point favorite before the line was bet up a full point, while the total opened at 210 before climbing a half point.
The Mavs are receiving solid production from Chandler Parsons, who scored 28 points in the team’s 104-101 loss to the Kings on Thursday. He’s averaged 19.4 points, 5.2 boards, 2.9 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.5 blocks and 2.5 3-pointers on 54.1 percent shooting from the field since February 1. David Lee has also played well since joining Dallas, averaging 10.0 points, 8.4 boards, 1.6 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks in 18.9 minutes.
Nearly 80% of betting tickets are on the Mavericks to cover the spread at the Nuggets
The Mavericks have beaten up on bad opponents recently, covering the spread in all four of their last four games against teams with a winning percentage below .400. They’re also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games versus a team with a losing record overall, which would qualify today against the 24-38 Nuggets.
Speaking of Denver, the team has failed to cover in four of its last five home games and is just 2-6 ATS in its last eight games overall. The Nuggets have also failed to win at the betting window in four of their last five games playing on one day of rest.
