Hawks fall to Bulls
These two met on Friday night, with the Hawks suffering a 168-161 four-OT loss at home to the Bulls. The loss snapped a four-game cover streak for Atlanta. The Hawks are 21-42 on the season, 10-23 on the road, 29-34 against the spread and 35-28 with the over.
Atlanta has the league’s worst defense, giving up 119.1 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.4 percent. Offensively, the Hawks are putting up 112.1 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent as a team. Atlanta has a lot of injuries to deal with as Tauren Prince will be out tonight while John Collins is doubtful. Collins is leading the team with 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Trae Young is adding 18.3 points and 7.8 assists per contest.
Bulls heating up
Chicago is coming off the win over Atlanta and the Bulls have won and covered the spread in five of their last six games. Chicago is now 18-45 on the season, 7-24 at home, 29-33-1 against the spread and 33-28-2 with the under.
The Bulls are putting up just 104.8 points per game on offense while shooting 45.2 percent as a team. Defensively, Chicago gives up 112.4 points per game while opponents shoot 46.8 percent against them. Zach LaVine is leading the team with 23.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Otto Porter Jr. is adding 19.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Atlanta
The Hawks have covered the spread in four straight games, but just 1-5 ATS in their last six Eastern Conference games.
Chicago
The Bulls are 2-9 against the spread in their last 11 home games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a losing road record.
Prediction:
It’s hard to predict either of these teams, but due to the injuries to Atlanta, I am going to go with Chicago. The Bulls showed that they can score against the Hawks and the Bulls are actually on a nice run as of late. The Hawks just won’t have much depth and that won’t help coming off a four-overtime game less than 48 hours ago.
NBA Prediction: Chicago Bulls -4
