Pelicans vs. Rockets Prediction
The underdog has been cashing for bettors in previous Pelicans-Rockets games and the two will meet tonight at 8:00PM ET in Houston.
New Orleans is currently a 6-point road underdog in Houston tonight according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. The over/under, meanwhile, is sitting at 220.5 points, up from the opening number of 219. (Compare lines for all of tonight’s NBA Games.)
The underdog is 9-3-1 against the spread in the last 13 meetings between these two teams while the Rockets are just 2-5 against the number in their last seven games versus a team with a losing record. They’ve also failed to cover in four of their last five games playing on only one day of rest.
Anthony Davis is a game-time decision tonight but said that his toe was feeling good after going through a shootaround. Seeing as how he made it through a full practice on Tuesday, Davis should be in New Orleans’ lineup tonight. (Read tonight’s NBA injuries.)
Even though AD and the Pelicans have had plenty of ups and downs this season, the Rockets aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders at this point. Not only have their dropped six of their last 10 games, but there was a report Tuesday that Dwight Howard wanted to be traded to the Bucks at the trade deadline. Houston is clinging onto the 8th seed in the Western Conference but the team’s point differential is -1.5 and shouldn’t be favored by six points against any opponent right now.
