Spurs, Pistons look to keep streaks alive
Two teams on win streaks meet tonight as the San Antonio Spurs host the Detroit Pistons at 8PM ET.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Spurs are heavy favorites at home, as they are getting odds of -11 points against the Pistons. The over/under total for the game has been set at 200.5 points.
San Antonio is 50-9 on the season, 28-0 at home and 37-22 against the spread. Detroit is 31-29 overall, 13-18 on the road and 31-28-1 against the spread. The Spurs have won three of the last four in this series, including a 109-99 win in Detroit back on Jan. 12. However, the Pistons have covered in six of the last nine meetings.
Both teams come in strong, as the Spurs have won five straight and covered in their last three. Detroit has won and covered in four straight, including a 96-88 win at Cleveland. The Spurs are 30-19 against the spread after a win this year and 19-9 ATS as a home team, both of which are the best cover percentages in the NBA. Detroit is just 13-17-1 against the spread, which ranks sixth-worst in the NBA for cover percentage. The Spurs are coming off an 8-game road trip, so being able to play at home, where they haven’t lost, you can expect a solid effort against a Pistons team that struggles on the road.
