Will Nuggets pull off back-to-back upsets?
The Nuggets have dropped three of their last four games but will their shocking upset of the Clippers be a springboard to a strong game tonight against the Mavericks?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Dallas is a 5-opoint home favorite over Denver after opening as a 4.5-point favorite. As for the total, it opened at 209 but has dropped to 208.5. (Track sides and totals for every game tonight at our NBA Odds Page.)
The Nuggets showed Wednesday night that they have some talent, it’s just highly inconsistent. Kenneth Faried hasn’t had a big season but he did produce a game-high 21 points in the win over the Clippers while also adding 11 rebounds in 23 minutes. If Faried and the Nuggets are as good tonight on the offensive glass as they were on Wednesday, they should keep pace with a Mavericks team that has failed to cover the spread in four of its last five home games.
The Mavs are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games overall while the Nuggets have covered in seven of their last nine road games. Our Advanced Matchup Report for this game has Dallas as a 1-point favorite so there’s some value in taking the points with Denver.
