Thunder in a letdown spot on Thursday?
The Thunder should post a victory tonight against the lowly Pelicans but Oklahoma City has also been a terrible road team for bettors of late.
The Thunder has failed to cover the spread in nine of their last 11 road games and haven’t been profitable coming off wins either, as they’re just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following victories. Hell, OKC hasn’t been profitable in any situation, in fact, as the Thunder are just 4-9 against the number in their last 13 games overall.
Anthony Davis was held in check on Tuesday night by the Wizards, who limited him to just nine points in the Pelicans’ 109-89 loss. But Davis is just two games removed from dropping an NBA season-high 59 points on the Pistons on Sunday and should rebound tonight, even against a stingy OKC defense.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Thunder are a 5-point favorite versus the Pelicans while the over/under for tonight’s game is currently sitting at 221.5 points.
You can see from our NBA Public Betting Page that the majority of bettors love OKC to cover the number tonight. With the Thunder coming off an impressive 116-103 win over the Mavericks in Dallas last night, this is a good spot to fade an OKC team that is due for a letdown.
