Miami in a funk
The Heat are coming off a 124-105 win at home over Cleveland on Saturday, but it was just their second win in seven games. Miami is 36-20 on the season, 13-17 on the road, 30-24-2 against the spread and 33-22-1 with the over.
Miami is putting up 112.1 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.9 percent as a team. Defensively, the Heat are giving up 108.7 points per game while opponents shoot 44.6 percent from the field. The Heat will be short-handed for this game, as Jimmy Butler (personal) is out while Tyler Herro is out with an ankle injury. Butler averages a team-high 20.6 points and 6.2 assists per game. Herro is averaging 13.1 points per contest. Bam Adebayo will be leading Miami tonight. He averages 16.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
Cavs end win streak
Cleveland had won two straight over the Hawks and Wizards, but struggled in Miami on Saturday. The Cavs decided to part ways with John Beilein as head coach. Cleveland is 15-41 on the season, 7-22 at home, 24-31-1 against the spread and 31-25 with the over.
The Cavaliers are giving up 115 points per game on defense this season, while opponents shoot 49.1 percent against them. Offensively, Cleveland is putting up 106.2 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent as a team. Collin Sexton is leading the team this season with 19.8 points per game while Kevin Love adds 17.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Miami
The Heat are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 games as a road favorite and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games.
Cleveland
The Cavs are 2-7 against the spread in their last nine home games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Monday games.
Prediction:
The Heat have won and covered in all three meetings with Cleveland this season, but I am going to go with the Cavs at home tonight. Miami is a losing team on the road and will be without a couple of key scorers in Butler and Herro. I also think Adebayo will have trouble being as impactful in the paint against the size that Cleveland has to work with. I know the Cavs were just soundly beaten in Miami, but the Heat are a completely different team at home than they are on the road. Cleveland is trying to get a little spark with Beilein gone, so I expect the Cavs to play hard at home.
NBA Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers +6
