Spurs continue long road trip
San Antonio is playing its eighth straight game on the road today. After dropping the first five, they earned wins at OKC and Utah since. The Spurs are 24-31 on the season, 10-19 on the road, 24-30-1 against the spread and 33-21-1 with the over.
The Spurs are giving up 114.3 points per game on defense this season while allowing opponents to shoot 46.7 percent against them. Offensively, San Antonio is putting up 113.2 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. DeMar DeRozan is leading San Antonio this season with 22.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.
Thunder look for third straight
Since losing at home to the Spurs before the break, the Thunder have won their last two games against the Pelicans and the Nuggets, covering in both. Oklahoma City is 34-22 on the season, 18-12 at home, 37-19 against the spread and 29-26-1 with the under.
The Thunder are giving up just 107.9 points per game on defense this year while holding opponents to 45.7 percent shooting. Offensively, OKC is averaging 110.7 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent as a team. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest. Danilo Gallinari and Dennis Schroder each add 19 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
San Antonio
The Spurs are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games as a road underdog and 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a win.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder have covered the spread in seven straight Sunday games and 21-8 ATS in their last 29 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
The Spurs have won and covered in two of three meetings with the Thunder this season, including the win 12 days ago. The Spurs controlled the glass in that game and won without DeRozan on the floor. The Spurs also had a nice win in Utah on Friday, but this long road trip has to be a bit of a bear. I know the break gave them some rest, but it has 22 days since their last home game. OKC also just felt the sting of the loss to the Spurs at home recently, so I would expected a motivated effort tonight. San Antonio hasn’t shown a lot of consistency throughout the season, so I have a hard time believing they will win and cover in three straight road games against playoff teams.
