Mavericks struggle toward the break
Dallas dropped three of its last five games going into the All-Star break, but Luka Doncic missed four of those five games. The Mavericks are 33-22 on the season, 18-8 on the road, 29-23-3 against the spread and 35-20 with the over.
The Mavericks are putting up 116.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Dallas is giving up 110.5 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent from the field. Doncic is averaging 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is adding 18.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest.
Magic trying to get on track
Orlando has had some struggles this season, but the Magic won their last two games before the break, beating Atlanta and Detroit at home. Orlando is 24-31 on the season, 15-13 at home, 23-30-2 against the spread and 29-23-3 with the under.
The Magic are allowing just 105.4 points per game on defense this season, while opponents shoot 45.8 percent from the field. Offensively, Orlando is putting up just 103.9 points per game while shooting only 43.4 percent as a team. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team with 19.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Evan Fournier adds 18.7 points per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Dallas
The Mavericks are 35-15-3 against the spread in their last 53 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Friday games.
Orlando
The Magic are 7-19-2 against the spread in their last 28 games against a winning team and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Prediction:
Dallas picked up 107-106 win at home over Orlando back in November, but I like the Mavs to cruise to a lopsided win on the road tonight. Orlando just doesn’t have the offense to compete against a team like Dallas. Doncic should be able to take over the game tonight, scoring points while facilitating offense to his teammates as well. The magic have struggled to stop strong offenses like the Hawks, Bucks and Celtics in recent games.
NBA Prediction: Dallas Mavericks -4
