Kings struggling on the road
Sacramento is coming off a 120-118 loss at Denver just before the break. The Kings have managed to cover the spread in three straight coming into tonight. Sacramento is 30-27 on the season, 11-16 on the road, 34-23 against the spread and 30-26-1 with the over.
The Kings are solid on offense this season, averaging 113.4 points per game while shooting 46.6 percent as a team. Defensively, the Kings are allowing 114.6 points per game. Buddy Hield has been leading the team this year with 20.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game while De’Aaron Fox is adding 17.2 points and 7.2 assists per contest.
Warriors not covering
Golden State went into the break coming off a 129-107 loss at Portland to snap a five-game win streak. However, the Warriors have failed to cover in four straight and six of their last seven. Golden State is now 41-16 overall, 22-7 at home, 24-32-1 against the spread and 31-26 with the over.
The Warriors are the league’s top offense, averaging 118.8 points per game while shooting 49.1 percent as a team from the field and 38.4 percent from the arc. Defensively, Golden State is giving up 111.7 points per game while holding opponents to 44.8 percent shooting. Stephen Curry is leading the team with 28.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Kevin Durant is adding 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Sacramento
The Kings are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven conference games and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games when playing on 3 days of rest or more.
Golden State
The Warriors are just 5-15-1 against the spread in their last 21 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six following a loss.
Prediction:
The Kings have covered the spread in all three meetings with the Warriors this season, not losing by more than five points in any of the meetings. That includes just a 1-point loss at Golden State on Nov. 24. While the Kings don’t play much defense, they can score at a high rate. They have covered in six of their last seven, including games with Denver, Philly and Atlanta. I am going to take my chances with the Kings getting the points against a Golden State team that hasn’t been reliable against the spread.
NBA Prediction: Sacramento Kings +12.5
