Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Timberwolves are 4.5-point favorites to beat the Clippers. The total, meanwhile, sits at 222.5 points and as of this writing, 55% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Clippers to cover the point spread.
Los Angeles Clippers Fantasy Spin
Danilo Gallinari double-double against the Celtics on Saturday with 19 points (5-of-10 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), 10 rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes. Gallo will be the Clippers' go-to guy with Tobias Harris out of the picture. He's been limited by a back injury of late, which could hold him down until the All-Star break. Gallo's been a top-30 player in 9-category leagues up this point, so he could be an extremely valuable fantasy asset if he can stay healthy down the stretch.
Minnesota Timberwolves Fantasy Spin
Robert Covington (right knee bone bruise) was limited to going through shooting drills during Sunday's practice. It doesn't sound like Covington has made much progress with this right knee issue, and with Minnesota's postseason hopes looking less and less realistic, there's not much incentive for RoCo to try and rush his return. The Timberwolves haven't given us many updates, but he's been out for a month and a half and isn't making much progress, so those holding him in leagues without an IR-spot may need to consider moving on if you're struggling in the standings.
NBA Betting Trends
The Clippers have covered the spread in 10 of their last 14 road games but are just 2-6 against the number in their last eight conference matchups.
The Timberwolves failed to cover in five of their previous six games and are winless at the betting window in their last five home contests.
The over is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams and cashed in six of the previous eight meetings in Minnesota. The over is also 4-1 in the Clippers’ last five games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous contest, is 19-7 in the Timberwolves’ last 26 games overall and cashed in nine of Minnesota’s previous 13 home games.
Monday NBA Prediction: Clippers/Timberwolves over 225.5
