Lakers vs. Wizards Prediction
Will the Wizards cover as a double-digit favorite when they host the Lakers tonight at 7:00PM ET?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Wizards are now 11-point home favorites versus the Lakers after opening as an 11.5-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, is sitting at 218.5 points after hitting the board at that same number.
The Lakers have lost eight of their last 10 games overall and are 4-6 against the spread over that same span. They are coming off a 120-116 victory as a 1-point home underdog versus the Nuggets, however, a win that snapped a three-game losing streak. D'Angelo Russell scored 22 points and a career-high 10 assists after returning from a three-game absence due to knee and calf injuries.
The Wizards, meanwhile, are red-hot, winning nine of 10 overall and going a perfect 10-0 against the spread during that stretch. Their latest victory came over the Knicks, beating New York 117-101 as an 8-point favorite on Tuesday night to give Washington five consecutive victories. Bradley Beal scored 28 points in the win while Marcin Gortat doubled-doubled, scoring 15 points with 11 rebounds.
OUR PREDICTION: The Wizards are 17-4 against the spread in their last 21 games following an ATS win and are 22-6 against the number in their last 28 games overall. The Lakers, meanwhile, have failed to cover in six of their last eight road games and are just 3-8 at the betting window in their last 11 games coming off a win. Might as well keep riding Washington until the Wizards fall off.
THURSDAY NBA PREDICTION: WASHINGTON WIZARDS -11
