Memphis at the .500 mark

Memphis is on a four-game win streak right now following a 127-106 win at New York on Wednesday. The Grizzlies got into a scuffle late in the game that will leave some of their players suspended. Memphis is 24-24 on the season, 10-11 on the road, 26-21-1 against the spread and 24-24 with the over/under total.

The Grizzlies are a solid offensive team, averaging 113.5 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field. Defensively, Memphis is allowing 115.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.8 percent from the field. Jaren Jackson Jr. is out due to a suspension. He is averaging 17.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Ja Morant is putting up 17.5 points, 7.2 assists and 3.5 rebounds per contest.

Pelicans back on track

After a few hiccups when Zion Williamson debuted, the Pelicans are back on track by winning their last two games. That includes a 125-111 win at Cleveland on Tuesday. New Orleans is now 19-29 on the season, 9-15 at home, 24-22-2 against the spread and 27-21 with the over.

New Orleans is putting up 114.7 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.6 percent from the field. Defensively, the Pelicans are giving up 117.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.5 percent against them. Brandon Ingram has been leading the team this season with 25 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. Williamson is putting up 18 points and 8.3 rebounds per game through his first four games of action.

NBA Betting Trends

Memphis

The Grizzlies are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games following a win and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games.

New Orleans

The Pelicans are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine home games and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a win.

Prediction:

The Pelicans just picked up a 126-116 win at Memphis back on Jan. 20. The Grizzlies are on a nice win streak right now, but losing Jackson tonight will be a problem. His ability to defend the paint and his point production will be a big blow against a New Orleans team that is really rolling offensively. The Pelicans have put up at least 123 points in five of their last six games. While they aren’t a great defense, New Orleans has been able to push a scoring pace the last month that most opponents can’t handle. I don’t think Memphis will be able to handle it tonight.

NBA Prediction: New Orleans Pelicans -5.5
