Bulls drop third straight

Chicago is coming off a 104-101 loss at home to Cleveland on Sunday for its third straight loss. The Bulls have failed to cover the spread in all three losses as well. Chicago is 11-39 on the season, 6-18 on the road, 21-28-1 against the spread and 30-19-1 with the under.

The Bulls have one of the worst offenses in the league, averaging just 101.1 points per game while shooting only 44.2 percent from the field. Defensively, Chicago is giving up 111 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 46.5 percent. Zach LaVine has been leading the team this season with 22.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Lauri Markkanen is adding 17.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest.

Nets have win streak end

Brooklyn is coming off a 112-104 loss at Boston last night to snap a six-game win streak. Despite the loss, the Nets still covered the spread on the road. Brooklyn is now 27-24 on the season, 15-11 at home, 29-22 against the spread and 26-25 with the over.

The Nets are middle of the road on offense and defense right now. They average 111.6 points per game on offense while giving up 111.4 points per game on defense. Injuries have piled up for the team, with the biggest being Spencer Dinwiddie being out until March with a thumb injury. He was averaging 17.2 points and 5.0 assists per game this season. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team this season with 19.3 points and 6.4 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

The Bulls are 5-16 against the spread in their last 21 games against Atlantic Division opponents and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall.

The Nets are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record.

Despite the injuries, Brooklyn has continued to play pretty well in recent weeks. The Nets have put together a bit of a “Bad News Bears” team of castoffs that seem to be clicking right now. Chicago has just been a mess lately, even losing at home to the Cavs. Even coming off a game last night, Brooklyn should be able to handle their business tonight. The Nets have won and covered in five straight against Chicago, including two games this season.

NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets -7
