Spurs drop two straight at home
San Antonio is coming off back-to-back losses at home to the Suns and the Raptors this weekend. The Spurs are 20-25 on the season, 8-13 on the road, 18-26-1 against the spread and 27-18 with the over.
The Spurs are putting up 113.4 points per game this year while shooting 47 percent from the field. Defensively, San Antonio is giving up 114.4 points per game while opponents shoot 46.3 percent against them. DeMar DeRozan is leading the team this season with 22.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.
Bulls can’t get on track
Chicago has alternated wins and losses over its last 10 games. The Bulls are coming off a 118-106 win at Cleveland on Saturday. They have covered in three of their last four. The Bulls are 18-30 on the season, 10-15 at home, 23-24-1 against the spread and 25-23 with the under.
The Bulls have struggled on offense this year, putting up 105.6 points per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Chicago is allowing 107.6 points per game while opponents shoot 46.6 percent against them. The Bulls have a lot of injury issues as eight players are currently listed in some capacity. The big ones are Wendell Carter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen, who are out tonight and for the foreseeable future. They combined for over 26 points and 16 rebounds per game. Zach LaVine is leading the team with 25.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
NBA Betting Trends
San Antonio
The Spurs are 8-2-1 against the spread in their last 11 road games and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a road favorite.
Chicago
The Bulls are just 17-36 against the spread in their last 53 home games and 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games as a home underdog.
Prediction:
The Spurs have struggled on offense in recent games, but they are a team that can put up points and I think they will do that tonight to get a win. Chicago can defend, but the Bulls are really beat up and don’t have much to offer in the frontcourt. I think DeRozan and Aldridge will take advantage of that. Chicago can’t defend them in the paint and will struggle to keep the Spurs off the glass. I like the Spurs to use their shooting and physicality to tire out the Bulls.
