OKC aims to spring stunner on Golden State
Oklahoma City’s six-game road trip isn’t off to a great start. So what are the Thunder’s chances of actually keeping pace with the Warriors this evening?
The Western Conference rivals collide in Oakland at 10:30 p.m. ET, with handicappers throwing their full support behind Steve Kerr’s crew. Online sports book Bovada.lv gives Golden State odds of -2000 to emerge victorious. OKC, on the other hand, enters Oracle Arena as a +950 underdog.
Despite the best efforts of Russell Westbrook, the Thunder have dropped two of their past three away from Chesapeake Energy Arena. The four-time All-Star’s 20th triple-double of the campaign was essentially wasted in Monday’s 120-98 loss to the Clippers. Billy Donovan’s squad allowed Los Angeles to shoot a blistering 54.9 percent from the field.
If Oklahoma City comes out with another poor defensive effort shortly, there’s no telling what the Dubs could do. Two nights ago, they dealt Cleveland a 126-91 trouncing. Klay Thompson led all scorers with 26 points, while Kevin Durant added 21.
Thompson (personal) actually may not suit up for this one. Even so, Golden State’s a mortal lock to improve to 36-6 overall. OKC’s next shot at redemption comes on March 20 in the Sooner State.
