New Orleans Pelicans Fantasy Spin
Anthony Davis did a little of everything against the Warriors during a 147-140 loss on Wednesday, scoring 30 points with 18 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, three blocks and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes. He looked to take a shot below the belt from Stephen Curry in the final minutes. Davis did check out for a couple minutes in real time, but he was able to check back in during this close loss — no locker room trip, too. Davis’ Pelicans dropped 140 points in a loss to become the first team to hit 140 in a regulation loss since 1992. The Pels had been playing better coming into this one and probably should have won this one, so maybe they can get hot in the second half of the season like last year. AD is fantasy’s best player.
Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin
Damian Lillard (right hand strain) finished Wednesday’s game with 33 points on 11-of-19 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, six assists, four 3-pointers, two rebounds and zero turnovers in 32 minutes. Lillard was also on the injury report this week due to a minor elbow injury, but neither that nor this hand strain have cost him any games. He’s yet to miss a game all year, in fact, and has been one of the league’s iron-men since he came in with an average of 3.3 DNPs across his seven seasons. Dame said recently that he feels like he’s “on a different level this season,” and that he’s “controlling the game” in a way he hasn’t before, which is all fantastic to hear if you own him. He’s a first-round fantasy star.
