Lakers grab win
The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a 107-100 win over the Chicago Bulls at home on Tuesday. That snapped a 2-game skid for the Lakers. Los Angeles is 24-21 on the season, 9-12 on the road, 18-25-2 against the spread and 29-15-1 with the under.
Los Angeles is averaging 111.3 points per game on offense while shooting 47 percent. Defensively, the Lakers are giving up 110.4 points per game while holding opponents to 44.3 percent shooting from the field. LeBron James continues to be out with a groin injury. Kyle Kuzma is leading the active roster with 18.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while Brandon Ingram is adding 16.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Thunder in a funk
Oklahoma City is coming off a 142-126 loss at Atlanta on Tuesday for its four loss in five games. The losses have been to the likes of Atlanta, Washington and Minnesota. OKC is 26-17 overall, 14-6 at home, 23-20 against the spread and 22-21 with the under.
The Thunder are putting up 113.1 points per game on offense despite shooting a league-worst 32.8 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Thunder are giving up 108.2 points per game while holding opponents to 34.5 percent shooting from the arc. Paul George is leading the team in scoring with 26.6 points per game while adding 8.1 boards per contest. Russell Westbrook is adding 21.7 points, 10.7 rebounds and 10.6 assists per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 2-7-1 against the spread in their last 10 games following a win and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games on 1 day of rest.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 6-0 against the spread after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five against Pacific Division opponents.
Prediction:
OKC picked up a 107-100 win at Los Angeles on Jan. 2, covering a 5-point spread. Without LeBron, the Lakers are 1-3 on the road, losing twice by at least 18 points. The Thunder have been hard to trust, as they have been playing down to their competition. However, they are coming off a bad loss at Atlanta and I think they will bounce back. The Lakers won’t have anyone to slow down Westbrook and George has proven to be a steady scorer. Steven Adams will control the glass and keep the Lakers from doing much on offense.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -10.5
