Celtics fall to Detroit
Boston played last night at home and suffered a surprising 116-103 loss at home to the Pistons. The Celtics have lost and failed to cover in four of their last six games. Boston is 27-12 on the season, 11-8 on the road, 22-15-2 against the spread and 22-17 with the under.
The Celtics are one of the strongest defenses in the NBA, allowing just 104.6 points per game while holding opponents to 44.4 percent shooting. Offensively, Boston is putting up 111.2 points per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. The Celtics could be without two key players as both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both questionable due to injuries. They each average over 20 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Kemba Walker is leading the team with 21.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.
Bucks keep rolling
Milwaukee is coming off a 128-102 win at home over the Knicks on Tuesday for a fourth straight win. The Bucks have also covered the spread in three straight. Milwaukee is 36-6 on the season, 19-2 at home, 24-18 against the spread and 21-20-1 with the over.
The Bucks have the league’s top offense, averaging 119.4 points per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the field. Defensively, the Bucks are giving up 106.8 points per game while opponents shoot just 41.2 percent from the field. Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading the team with 30 points, 12.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Khris Middleton is adding 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games following a double-digit loss at home.
Milwaukee
The Bucks are 14-6 against the spread in their last 20 games following a win and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Boston picked up a win over Milwaukee on their home floor back in October, but I think tonight is going to be a rough night for the Celtics. Boston isn’t likely to be at 100 percent as is and now they are coming off a game last night in which they looked very flat. Milwaukee is just too fast and athletic for the Celtics without their full compliment of players. The Bucks aren’t likely to overlook the Celtics either, since Boston has one of the stronger records in the East.
NBA Prediction: Milwaukee Bucks -9.5
