Nets fall to Jazz
Brooklyn is coming off a 118-107 loss at home to the Utah Jazz last night. It ended a small two-game win streak for the Nets. Brooklyn is 18-21 on the season, 7-12 on the road, 18-21 against the spread and 20-18-1 with the under.
The Nets are struggling a little on defense, allowing 111.2 points per game while opponents shoot 43.4 percent from the field. Offensively, Brooklyn is putting up 109.6 points per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the field. The Nets recently got Kyrie Irving back from injury. He is averaging 28.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game through 13 games of action this season. Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 22 points and 6.4 assists per contest.
76ers struggle on the road
Philadelphia is coming off a pair of back-to-back losses on the road to Indiana and Dallas, where Philly was held to 95 points or less in both games. The 76ers are now 25-16 on the season, 18-2 at home, 16-21-4 against the spread and 21-19-1 with the under.
The 76ers are giving up just 105.7 points per game this season while opponents shoot 45.5 percent from the field. Offensively, Philadelphia is putting up 109 points per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the floor. The 76ers remain without Joel Embiid due to his hand injury. He averages 23.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Tobias Harris is putting up 19.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, while Ben Simmons averages 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 8.4 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets are 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 Wednesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games as an underdog.
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 2-5-2 against the spread in their last nine games as a favorite and 1-3-2 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite.
Prediction:
Brooklyn picked up a 20-point win at home over Philly back on Dec. 15. The Nets are coming off a tough loss at home last night and have a quick turnaround to face the 76ers. Philly has struggled offensively as of late, but they still have put up good numbers at home. Brooklyn isn’t a great defensive team that will be able to keep the 76ers out of the paint. That should help Philly see a boost in offense tonight. The Nets will also have some tired legs and that should keep their offensive total lower, which I think will allow Philly to cover.
NBA Prediction: Philadelphia 76ers -7.5
