Bulls vs. Grizzlies Pick
Will the Memphis Grizzlies be able to hold off a short-handed Chicago Bulls team tonight at 9PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Memphis is favored in the game, as the Grizzlies are getting odds of -7.5 points against the Bulls. The over/under total is listed at 191.5 points. These two have yet to meet this season, but the home team has won and covered the spread in two straight in this series.
Chicago snapped a three-game losing streak on Saturday with a 107-99 win over the Pelicans at home. Chicago is now 20-21 overall and 20-21 against the spread. The Bulls have covered the spread in five of their last seven games. Chicago is averaging 101.3 points per game on offense this season while giving up 101.4 points per contest on defense. Jimmy Butler is leading the way with 25.1 points per game, but he is expected to be without his scoring partner in Dwyane Wade. Wade, who is averaging 18.9 points per game, is expected to sit out because of rest.
Memphis has won three of its last four games, including a 110-95 win at Houston on Friday night. The Grizzlies are now 25-17 overall and 22-20 against the spread after covering in three of their last four. Memphis puts up just 99.5 points per game on offense while the defense is giving up 98.9 points per contest. Marc Gasol is averaging 19.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game to lead Memphis while Mike Conley is adding 18.7 points and 6.1 assists per contest.
I don’t like the Bulls going on the road with one of their best players out and competing with a team that is 25-17 on the season. Jimmy Butler will really have to have a great game, but the Memphis defense should have something planned to limit what he will do. Look for the Grizzlies to cover today.
