Irving questionable for Celtics

The Celtics are coming off a 105-103 loss at Orlando on Saturday in which Kyrie Irving was injured. He suffered a quad bruise that has him as a game-time decision to play tonight. Boston is 25-17 on the season, 10-12 on the road, 22-20 against the spread and 26-16 with the over.

Boston is playing very well on defense, allowing just 105.6 points per game while holding opponents to 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 33.2 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Boston is putting up 111.9 points per game. Irving is averaging 22.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game this season while Jayson Tatum is adding 16.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.

Nets fall at Toronto

Brooklyn is coming off a 122-105 loss at Toronto on Friday for their second loss in three games. The Nets are now 21-23 on the season, 11-11 at home, 23-21 against the spread and 23-21 with the over.

The Nets are putting up 110.7 points per game on offense while shooting 36 percent from the arc. Defensively, Brooklyn is giving up 111.5 points per game while opponents shoot 46.8 percent from the field. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team with 18.3 points and 6.3 assists per game while Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 16.9 points and 5.0 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Boston

The Celtics are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, but 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 conference games.

Brooklyn

Brooklyn is 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games playing on 2 days of rest.

Prediction:

Obviously you need to keep an eye on the Irving situation. His status will make a big impact on the game. The Nets have played much better at home this season, averaging nearly 5 points more per game. The Celtics are just 8-14 against the spread on the road this season and, even with Irving, I think this could be a tough game for them. The Celtics have lost three straight on the road and I will take my chances on Brooklyn with the points at home.

NBA Prediction: Brooklyn Nets +4.5
