Philly struggling to get on track
Philadelphia has struggled to establish much consistency when it comes to winning. They are coming off a 109-91 loss at Dallas on Saturday and have dropped five of their last seven. The 76ers are 25-15 on the season, 7-13 on the road, 16-20-4 against the spread and 20-19-1 with the under.
The 76ers are putting up 109.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 46.9 percent as a team. Defensively, Philly is giving up 105.8 points per contest while holding opponents to 45.7 percent shooting. Philly continues to be without Joel Embiid due to a torn ligament in his hand. Embiid averages 23.4 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Tobias Harris is leading the way with 19.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while Ben Simmons is adding 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per contest.
Indiana hoping to heal up
The Pacers have been grinding through injuries for a few weeks and hoping to get close to 100 percent by the end of the month. They are coming off a 116-105 win at Chicago on Friday, but are just 4-6 in their last 10. Indy is 24-15 on the season, 15-5 at home, 21-17-1 against the spread and 20-18-1 with the over.
Indiana is one of the better defensive teams in the league, holding opponents to 106.5 points per game while they shoot just 44.5 percent against them. Offensively, Indy is putting up 109.6 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent as a squad. The Pacers will get Victor Oladipo back later this month, but Domantas Sabonis and Malcolm Brogdon are both questionable for tonight’s game. Brogdon is currently dealing with strep throat while Sabonis is battling a knee injury. Those two combined for 35.7 points, 17.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists per game. TJ Warren adds 17.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five road games.
Indiana
The Pacers are 9-3-1 against the spread in their last 13 home games against a team with a losing road record, but 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a cover.
Prediction:
The home team has won both meetings between these two, but the Pacers have covered the spread in each contest. Indiana is a defensive-minded team and the 76ers have struggled with that as of late. Teams are forcing Philly into beating them with their outside shooting and the 76ers just don’t have the ability to do that consistently. Without Embiid, it also takes a big offensive figure out of the lineup and also out of the paint defensively. Even with the injuries Indiana is dealing with, I still think the Pacers can get the job done. Brogdon could return tonight to give the offense a boost as well.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers -1
