Grizzlies vs. Rockets Prediction
The Rockets should bounce back from their last loss when they host the Grizzlies tonight at 8:00PM ET but will they cover?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Rockets are 7-point home favorites versus the Grizzlies while the over/under currently sits at 214.5 points. Houston opened as a 6.5-point favorite before the line was bet up to 7, while the over/under hit the board at 215.5 before dropping to 214.5.
Mike Conley scored a team-high 22 points for the Grizzlies in their loss to the Thunder on Wednesday, adding four rebounds, six assists, three steals and three 3-pointers. Chandler Parsons also scored a season-high 14 points while Zach Randolph chipped in with 14 points with nine rebounds, one assist and four turnovers in 27 minutes.
The Rockets fell to the Timberwolves on Wednesday but James Harden still managed to produce 33 points with 12 assists and six rebounds in the losing effort. He now has five triple-doubles in his last seven games. After missing the game in Minnesota, Eric Gordon (left big toe sprain) is listed as probable to face the Grizzlies tonight.
OUR PREDICTION: The Rockets are the best bet in the league coming off a loss, covering in nine straight following defeat. They're also 16-5 against the number in their last 21 games when playing on one day of rest, are 16-6 against the spread in their last 22 conference games and have covered in 20 of their last 28 games following an ATS loss. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in its previous game and have failed to cover in five of their last seven road games.
