Boston Celtics Fantasy Spin
Gordon Hayward played just 20 minutes off the bench against the Heat on Thursday, scoring six points with one rebound, four assists and no turnovers. It’s the fifth time he’s played with no rest days, and Hayward was pretty solid in those previous four with 14.0 points per game in 27.5 minutes. Thanks to a 35-point explosion against the Wolves on Jan. 2, Hayward’s previous games in January are solid with averages of 19.3 points, 5.3 boards, 4.8 dimes, 0.5 steals and 2.5 treys in those four. He’ll have some bumps in the road, but he’s trending up excluding this dud.
Orlando Magic Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Isaac had nine points, five rebounds, two 3-pointers, one assist and one block in 26 minutes during Wednesday’s road loss in Utah. Isaac has been completely out of sorts offensively and teams are daring him to shoot, so it was encouraging to see him open tonight’s game with a made corner 3-pointer. There’s a long way to go before he earns 12-team owners’ trust, though, as he’s averaging a combined 4.3 points on 25.0% shooting in his past three games.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics have covered the spread in four of their last five games overall and are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games playing on one day of rest.
Orlando
The Magic are 8-0-1 against the number in their last nine games versus Atlantic opponents but have not covered a spread in their last four chances.
Prediction
The under has been profitable in this series, covering in four of the last five meetings. The under is also 7-3 in the Celtics’ last 10 road games when facing a team with a losing home record and is 4-1 in the Magic’s last five games overall. The under has cashed in seven of Orlando’s last eight games coming off a loss of more than 10 points as well.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Celtics/Magic under 213.5
