Knicks hot, T-Wolves ice cold for bettors
While bettors may want to follow the Knicks at the betting window, it’s past time to fade the Timberwolves.
Celtics at Knicks, 7:30PM ET
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Knicks are a 2-point home favorite for tonight’s game versus the Celtics. That’s a small price to pay for a team that has covered six-straight spreads and is now 24-15 ATS overall. New York is also 6-3 at the betting window as a home favorite this season, winning by an average margin of 6.6 points. That said, Boston is also 6-3 ATS as a road underdog and 10-7 ATS on the road overall.
Spurs at Pistons, 7:30PM ET
Both of these teams have covered the spread in four of their last five games. San Antonio has won eight straight while Detroit has won three in a row, which includes a 103-89 win over Brooklyn as an 11-point favorite on Saturday. The Spurs own the best ATS record in the league at 27-12, while the Pistons aren’t far behind at 21-14-2. As a home underdog this season, Detroit is 3-1-1 against the number while San Antonio is 11-5 ATS as a road favorite. The Spurs are a 7.5-point favorite tonight.
Thunder at Timberwolves, 8:00PM ET
Minnesota is an 11-point home underdog tonight and while there’s value in taking a double-digit home dog, the T-Wolves have struggled mightily at the betting window. They haven’t covered a spread in six straight games and are currently on a six-game losing streak. The T-Wolves are also 14-23 against the spread this season and a brutal 3-17-1 against the number as the home team in 2015-16. The Thunder hasn’t been a great bet as a road favorite (5-7 ATS), but perhaps they’ll improve their record tonight.
