According to the latest oddsmakers, the Lakers are the slim favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -1 point against the Thunder. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 215 points. The public betting currently has 70 percent going on the Lakers as the road favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.
Lakers continue win streak
The Lakers are coming off a 129-114 win at Dallas last night for a seventh straight victory. They have two road wins during this stretch. Los Angeles is 31-7 on the season, 16-3 on the road, 20-17-1 against the spread and 22-16 with the under.
Los Angeles has been strong on both sides of the floor. The defense is allowing just 105.1 points per game while holding opponents to 43.6 percent shooting. Offensively, the Lakers are putting up 113.2 points per game while shooting a league-best 48.4 percent from the floor. Anthony Davis missed last night’s game due to a spine injury from a hard fall earlier in the week. He is listed as questionable for tonight’s game, but Los Angeles is likely to be cautious with his return. Davis averages 27.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per contest. LeBron James is leading the way with 25.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 10.7 assists per contest.
Thunder still covering
Oklahoma City is coming off a 113-92 win at home over Houston on Thursday. The Thunder have won seven of their last eight games while covering the spread in all eight. OKC is 22-16 on the season, 13-6 at home, 26-12 against the spread and 22-16 with the under.
The Thunder are putting up 108.9 points per game on offense this season while holding opponents to 46.5 percent shooting. Defensively, OKC is allowing 106.9 points per game while opponents shoot 45.2 percent against them. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is leading the team with 19.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Chris Paul is adding 16.7 points and 6.4 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Lakers are 3-7-1 against the spread in their last 11 games as a favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games.
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as a home underdog and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games playing on 1 day of rest.
Prediction:
The Lakers have won both meetings with OKC this season, but the Thunder covered in both losses. These two haven’t met since late November and the Thunder are playing like a much different team right now. Davis is a big question mark to play and the Lakers are coming off a road game last night and have a quick turnaround against a team playing with a lot of confidence right now. The Thunder have a lot of balance on both sides of the ball. OKC really dominated Houston on Thursday and I think they can really turn the Lakers into a 1-man team and take away LeBron’s distribution ability. I like the Thunder to continue their hot streak.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder +1
