Nets staying competitive
The Nets are coming off a 116-100 win over the Hawks at home on Wednesday night. Brooklyn has won and covered the spread in four of its last five games. Brooklyn is now 21-22 on the season, 10-11 on the road, 23-20 against the spread and 22-21 with the over.
Brooklyn is middle of the road on both offense and defense this season. The Nets are putting up 110.9 points per game on offense while giving up 111.3 per game on defense. Injuries have been an issue all season for the Nets and they will be without Allen Crabbe, Jared Dudley and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson tonight while Kenneth Faried is questionable. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team right now with 18.2 points and 6.3 assists per game while Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 17.1 points and 5.1 assists per game.
Raptors getting back on track
Toronto is coming off a 104-101 win over the Hawks at home on Tuesday night for its third straight win and fifth win in six games. They are just 3-4 against the spread in their last seven games. The Raptors are now 31-12 overall, 17-4 at home, 19-24 against the spread and 25-18 with the over.
The Raptors are putting up 113.2 points per game on the season behind 47.5 percent shooting. Defensively, Toronto is giving up 107.9 points per game while holding opponents to 34.2 percent shooting from the arc. Kawhi Leonard is leading the team with 27.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while Serge Ibaka is adding 16.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. They are also 5-1 ATS in their last six against Atlantic opponents.
Toronto
The Raptors are 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 games overall and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a win.
Prediction:
Brooklyn actually owns a 106-105 OT win over the Raptors this season back on Dec. 7. Toronto is healing up, but they struggled with the Hawks on Tuesday and three of their last four home wins have been by single digits. The Nets have been able to play well as of late, but the competition hasn’t been the greatest. They were blown out at Boston and blown out at Milwaukee in recent weeks. I think the depth will be an issue as Brooklyn is really beat up. I will go with the Raptors to pick up a lopsided win as they just have the better talent and depth.
NBA Prediction: Toronto Raptors -9.5
