Grizzlies vs. Thunder Pick
Will the Memphis Grizzlies find a way to lock up the Oklahoma City Thunder again when they meet tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Thunder is favored at home tonight, as OKC is getting odds of -5.5 points against the Grizzlies. The over/under total for the game is listed at 203.5 points. Memphis won and covered the spread in the lone meeting this year with a 114-80 win at home on Dec. 29.
Oklahoma City has won back-to-back games coming into tonight to move to 23-16 on the season. The Thunder have covered the spread in three straight as well to get to 21-17-1 against the spread. OKC is putting up 106.9 points per game on offense this year, but also allowing 105 points per game. Russell Westbrook is leading OKC in most categories, averaging 31.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 10.4 assists and 1.41 steals per game. Victor Oladipo is adding 16.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest.
The Grizzlies also have won back-to-back games, including a win at Golden State, to move to 24-16 on the year and 21-19 against the spread. Memphis is known for its defense, allowing just 98.6 points per game while scoring just 99.3 points per contest. Marc Gasol is averaging 19.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game to lead Memphis this season while Mike Conley is putting up 18.7 points and 6 assists per contest.
Oklahoma City is very reliant on Westbrook, which is understandable, but the Grizzlies can key in on his supporting cast while letting him get his numbers. Westbrook can’t outscore the Grizzlies on his own and that is what we saw in the first meeting this season, as the Thunder weren’t able to support Westbrook. OKC’s defense is not very good, which will allow Memphis to put up a bigger scoring total than usual and cover tonight.
