Heat vs. Raptors Pick
Are the Miami Heat going to take advantage of the undermanned host Toronto Raptors tonight at 7:30PM ET?
Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Raptors are a 7.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 207 points. The spread and total are right in line with where they opened as of early Tuesday morning.
Who the Public Likes: As of Tuesday morning, exactly 50 percent of public bets have been placed on the Heat and the Raptors.
Injury Report: Heat forward Okaro White is out until mid-February with a foot injury. Guard Dion Waiters is out indefinitely with an ankle injury. Swingman Justise Winslow is out indefinitely with a knee injury. Rodney McGrudger is out until April with a stress fracture in his left leg. Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry exited Monday’s game with a tailbone injury and had X-rays. His status for tonight’s game is questionable.
Who the Trends Like: Toronto is 1-9 ATS in its last 10 Tuesday games. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings. The under is 8-0 in the last eight Miami Tuesday games.
Who We Like: Toronto might be without Lowry, which would be a huge absence. Even if Delon Wright has excelled with the second team, he’s no Lowry. The Raptors are on a back-to-back and had to travel back home, plus now likely without their point guard. Miami has won its last four games and although it still has some injuries, the main core is back intact. I’m going to side with the Heat here as the spread seems a bit too wide with a potential star player out.
NBA DAILY PREDICTION: MIAMI HEAT +7.5
